The word yoga means "to yoke" or "to bring into union." Another way of understanding it is, as a means to bring into balance the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual aspects of our being.
Yoga enables us to do so by incorporating movement, meditation, mindfulness, breathing exercises, contemplation, self-study and more.
Yoga is NOT a religion, but you could also view it as "the practice of deepening connection and understanding of your Inner Self."
Yoga, for me has allowed me the grace to see myself through every chapter of my life. It has taught me peace, patience, flexibility (both on the mat, and off), love, and acceptance of myself and others.
